Project Workstreams
The Sage Commons represents a major shift in how genomics research is conducted. The goal of an accessible shared community environment for integrative genomics and networks biology raises questions on everything from data standards and international privacy compliance to citation and reward mechanisms and governance structures.
The opportunities and challenges incumbent in building an effective Commons are being addressed by a series of stakeholder project teams. The participants come from a broad range of partners and include researchers, funders, media and entrepreneurs. The teams worked for several months in advance of the Congress, as well as holding interactive workshops during the congress, to identify and prioritize core questions and do background research on how best to address each issue. The project team workstreams helped frame Congress discussions and will continue to provide practical guidance on strategic solutions:

F) Public Engagement; The newest addition, the Public Engagement project brings together patient advocates, research foundations and medical researchers to engage and educate the community and government.
